Signature : Mumei attributed as Yoshioka Ichimonji. 吉岡一文字

Sayagaki: Bizen Koku Yoshioka Ichimonji but O-suriage Mumei. The quality is wonderful and was made end of Kamakura period. The length is 66.67cm. The Sayagaki was write by Dr.Tanzan (Mr. Tanobe)

This sword belongs to Jyo Jyo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 66.67cm or 26.24 inches.
Sori :1.82 cm or 0.71 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.78cm or 1.09 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.89cm or 0.74 inches.
Kasane : 0.59cm or 0.23 inches.
The weight of the sword 520 grams.
Era : End of Kamakura period.
Shape: O-Suriage Mumei sword with regular width. Sori is deep and Kissaki is longer.
Jigane: Ko-Itame-Hada with Masame nagare, with jinie attached and Midare-Utsuri is visible. Chikei is worked. Boshi is round shape.
Hamon: Konie deki rather round-shaped Gunme Midare Ruth deep nioikuchi Ashi, Kinsuji, Sunagashi worked.

Special feature: Yoshioka Ichimonji school started around the end of the Kamakura period, next to Fukuoka Ichimonji. Sukemitsu, Sukeshige, Suketsugu, Sukeyoshi is some of the famous Yoshioka Ichimonji’s swordsmith. Workstyle is the same as Fukuoka Ichimonji, Beautiful Jigane with magnificent Choji-Midare or Gunome-Midare. There are also mixed both Hamon swords, sometimes we can see Suguha swords.

Koshirae: Modern Tachi Koshirae.

From Aoi Art: This work is Ko-Itame-Hada well-grained Jinie attached and Chikei and Utsuri visible. It also has Dr. Tanobe’s Sayagki and he says this sword was made around end of the Kamakura period and this is rare masterpiece. We strongly recommend this sword for you.
