Signature : Mumei (Shizu) Daimyo Ikeda family’s sword.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Saijyo saku ranking ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki :Solid gold double habaki with Ikeda family’s crest is engraved.
Blade length : 70.6  cm or 27.8 inches.
Sori :1.52 cm or 0.6 inches.
Mekugi :  3
Width at the hamachi : 3.06 cm or 1.2 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.51cm or 1.0nches.
Kasane : 0.7 cm or 0.276 inches.
Era : Early Nanbokucyo period.
Shape : The blade is oosuriage mumei(cut shortened)
with bo-hi is engraved on both sides of the blade.
The blade is rather wide and
thick with deep sori and long kissaki nice looking shape.
Jigane :Itame hada well grained with masa nagare with chikei work.
Hamon :Niedeki Gunome midare and small notare hamon and togari
gunome midare mixed yubashiri, ashi and Yo work.
In Hamon sunagashi and long Kinsuji scatter.

Special feature:Shizu means thast the place of Mino province.
Kaneuji who was one of the member of Masamune 10 tetsu(student of the Masamune),
working this place.who was called Shizu Saburo Kaneuji the most well known sword makier in Mino province.
His swords are very close to the great his master Masamune.

Koshirae :
Saya :red colored chest lines are engraved.
Tsuba :Hexagon shape iron Tsuba, rise up wide mimi and engrave dragon.
Menuki : Lobster is engraved by copper.
Kojiri:Bamboo shape is engraved by silver plate.
Kurikata:a dragon is engraved by silver plate.

because the blade has a lot of activities with Kinsuji sunagashi
and deep nioikuchi gunome midare hamon.
Koshirae is also nice high quality Koshirae.
According to the owner’s information, the blade belonged to
Ikeda daimyo family’s sword. The Habaki was made
by solid gold with Ikeda family’s crest.
The sword belonged to middle koto and saijyo saku ranking and Oo wazamono cutting test ranking.
