of Koaoe in this shape, jigane and hamon.
A little yubasiri of yakigashira in the blade is classical elegant.
Though it is Oosuriage, the shape with deep sori in hamachi still retains
characteristics of swords from the late Heian period to the early Kamakura period.

From Aoi-Art: This sowrd has been passed down as the sword that Naoshige received
from Tokugawa Iemitsu, the 3rd shogun of the Edo bakufu. There are the content
of Tokugawa Zikki ( an official history book of Tokugawa) with Jyuyo Token Zuhu.
Accordind to Tokugawa Zikki the 2nd edition, Iemitsu gave Naoshige a katana of Aoe
in December 6, Syoho 2 (1645), when Ii Naotakå received another position.
It is masterpiece of Koaoe and looks like Kobizen.
