This blade belongs to Saijyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 71.4 cm or 28.11 inches.
Sori : 2.1 cm or 0.82 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 3.26 cm or 1.28 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.57 cm or 1.01 inches.
Kasane : 0.77 cm or 0.30 inches.
Era : Nanbokucho period, Shohei era 1346.
Shape : Wide and thick Katana with Sori, nice shape Katana.
The kissaki is O-Kissaki. There are Bo-Hi on both side of the blade.
Jitetsu : Itame Hada, Nagare and Hadadatsu with Jinie attach.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Omote side, Gunome Midare and Ko-Choji Midare. Ura side, Ko-Notare and Gunome Midare. There are many Ashi, Yo, Sunagashi, and Kinsuji.
Bo-shi is midarekomi and hakikate Kaen style.

Special feature : It is said that Yoshisada was a son of the great Oosa or disciple of the Samonji.
He made pretty many swords during his life.
This blade is Mumei but the style of the Samonji school can be seen on Jigane and Hamon.
Sa Sadayoshi is a first base swordsmith who follows the tradition of Samonji, and there is a wakizashi with the inscription Mondo Nagamasa Yoshisada in the existing one. You can find out the approximate age of his activity. Most of the surviving swords are Wakizashi, many Tanto, and Wakizashi Very few productions. Among the Sa class, there are many guests whose blade Jigane are small, and this tendency is also applied to unnamed poles. Inscriptions that have something with are often cut as Yoshisada, Yoshisada Saku.

From Aoi Art: This Itame Hada is well grained with thick Jinie attach. There are fine Chikei. In the Ha, there are a lot of works.
The Boshi is Togari Gokoro. It is typical Sa school.
If you look closely at the Hamon, the Gunome Midare and Choji Midare Hamon are excellent and the blade is healthy.
The Sayagaki was written by Dr. Sato Kanzan. It’s heavy, and it’s a O-Kissaki nice shape. We strongly recommend this Katana for you.
