Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper)
Signature : Mumei (unsigned) attributed as Enju
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku, Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jojo saku ranking.

The blade is polished.
Blade length : 68.2 cm or 26.9 inches.
Sori : 1.1 cm or 0.43 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the Hamachi : 2.05 cm or 0.81 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 3.00 cm or 1.18 inches.
Kasane : 0.65 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Later Kamakura period (14th century)
Shape : Suriage Mumei but thick and wide healthy blade.
Jigane : Koitamehada Mokume mixed with Jinie attach. Utsuri appear on the surface.
Hamon : Konie-deki Suguha Boshi turns round shape.

Special feature : Taro Kunimura the founder of Enju school is told as the student of Rai Kuniyuki.
Enju school were active during later Kamakura to Nanbokucho period at Kikuchi area at Higo.
If the signature were remining on the stem of the blades, most of them are two character Kanji words such like Kunimura, Kunitsugu, Kuniyoshi, Kuniyasu and Kunonobu etc… Same name of swordsmiths continued up to several generations.
The blade becomes similar to Rai Kunitoshi.
