This sword belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki :silver double habaki.
Blade length : 69.6cm or 27.4inches.
Sori :1.4cm or 0.55 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.68 cm or 1.055 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.23 cm or 0.88inches.
Kasane : 0,56cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : The blade is abou 5cm suruage and Machiokuri with regular thickness and width with long kissaki.
Jigane :Koitame hada well grained
with jinie attach and visible to see the texture.
On the Jigane, shirake utsuri appear.
Hamon :Niedeki sugaha and notare mixed with small ashi.
Boshi is midarekomi style wild feeling.
special feature:Dotanuki is the name of a swordsmith School
prospered in Higo province, present Kumamoto pref. in Kyushu Island.
It is said that the School descended from the Euju School.
Swordsmith of this school worked for a famous military commander Kato Kiyomasa in the Ko-to period.
Masakuni and Kiyomasa were two famous swordsmiths in this period.
They forged many swords including spears and naginatas appropreate for actual warfare.
Kozuke (No) Suke made this spear.
The inscriptions on another works show that he lived
at Kikuchi and worked around Bunroku to Keicho era.
