Explanation: The sword was made at 1855 February.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo Jyo Saku. ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki :gold wrapped double habaki.
Blade length : 69.6 cm or 27.4 inches.
Sori :1.9cm or 0.75 inches.
Mekugi :  1
Width at the hamachi : 3.14cm or 1.236 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.2 cm or 0.87 inches.
Kasane : 0.7cm or 0.276 inches.
Era : Edo period Kaei era. 1855.
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick
with rather deep sori and O-kissaki nice style.
Jigane :Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach beautiful nice texture.
Hamon :Nioideki cyouji midare with ashi.
Boshi: Midarekomi style.

Special feature: First generation Bizen no suke Munetsugu
(Koyama Munetugu ) was born at Mutsu Shirakawa province
as a son of Koyama Munehira. His name was Soubei.
He was working for Matudaira Daimyo family as a sword making Samurai.
He moved to Kuwana province with his master and then he moved
to Edo Tenpo 2 nd year.At that time he was high reputation of cut well swords maker.
Some times we found his swords which was done Saidanmei
and also possession name on the tang of the blade.
Generally speaking the quality of Munetsugu is one of the top swords smith
in late Edo period and without any faults among his swords.
He passed away Meiji 5th year 70years of age.
He was well kown swordsmith at that time and left famous story.
Kiyomaro opened a sword factory near Munetsugu without greeting
so Munetsugu got angry and applied for a duel to Kiyomaro.
I don’t know the result but his intense feeling was succeeded to make swords.
He tried to make cut well swords so he asked Yamada Asaemon sword cutter
how to make cut well swords.
So Koyama Munetsugu has many Saidanmei swords during his life.
Generally speaking his subjects are all swords are quite well
and good condition without Kizu and flow.
This sword is quite well jigane and Hamon.
