We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku, and Regular Saku.
This sword is ranked as Jyo Saku.
Habaki: Silver single-layer
Blade Length: 73.9 cm (29.09 in)
Curvature: 1.6 cm (0.63 in)
Mekugi Hole: 1
Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.18 cm (1.25 in)
Width at Tip (Sakihaba): 2.01 cm (0.79 in)

Sword Weight: 675 g (1.49 lbs)
Era: Late Muromachi Period
Shape:The blade has a slightly wide mihaba, thick kasane, and shallow curvature.
It has an elegant shape with an extended kissaki and bohi (groove) carved on both sides.
Jigane:The small itame hada is well-forged, resulting in a refined and high-quality jigane.
Hamon:A prominent midare pattern with a strong nie presence.
The boshi is rounded and returns smoothly.
Features: This sword was previously appraised as Ujifusa and designated as a NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho Token.
Although the current sword museum's appraisal is unknown, I believe it is appropriately attributed to Ujifusa.
Generally, Ujifusa is known for producing tantos, and the signature Hida no Kami Ujifusa is often seen on such works.
The hamon is gracefully undulating, occasionally featuring large midare, reminiscent of Hida no Kami's style.
This piece exudes a relaxed and elegant atmosphere, which I highly recommend appreciating.
Koshirae (NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho Tosogu):
Tsuba: Iron, round-shaped with carved patterns along the rim.
Fuchikashira: Made of shakudo with a fine stone texture, featuring gold patterns in the Kyushu Higo style. The kurikata is positioned quite forward.
Saya: Ume-kawa (sharkskin-patterned) saya.
Menuki: High-relief carving of a turtle motif. The reverse menuki is unclear.
Aoi Art’s Comment:
A tasteful combination of a Mumei Ujifusa blade with a Higo-style koshirae.
This is a highly recommended piece.
