Special feature: Hokke Saburo 8th generation, whose real name is Takahashi Noboru, was bon in Hokaido, Meiji 42(1909). Later he became a pupil of Mutsu Sendaihan Kunikane. At that time he was seeking how to make Bizenden of the 7th Hokke Saburo and called himself as Kagefusa, later he changed his name to Nobufusa. After he once won a prize in Shinsaku Bijutsu Token Exhibition in 1964, he won a series of prizes annually. In 1966, he was designated as Intangible Cultural Asset of Miyagi prefecture. In 1981, he was designated as Mukansa swordsmith. He had been researching Yamatoden Hosho school style for a long time and he succeeded to restore its method, and Hokke family revived their Yamatoden after that. He passed away on 25th of October in 2000. His style was succeeded to the 9th Hokke Saburo and his son Takahashi Eiki, and these two are known as chosen swordsmith that have succeeded to Yamatoden Hosho school swords today.
