Aoi Art’s Comment: Osumi Toshihira (real name: Tadao) was born in Ota City in Showa 7 (1932).
He studied under the Living National Treasure Miyairi Akihira, mastering the art of swordsmithing.
He consecutively won awards for six years in the New Master Swordsmith Exhibition, ultimately receiving the Masamune Award—the highest honor in the sword world—and was recognized as a Living National Treasure.
Renowned as a master of suguha, his outstanding works closely resemble the finest of the old master swords.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a work by a Living National Treasure.
