The blade was polished.
Habaki: Gold double foiled habaki
Blade length : 32.5cm or 12.8inches.
Sori : 0.5 cm or 0.2inches.
Mekugi: 3
Width at the hamachi : 2.88cm or 1.13inches.
Kasane : 0.44cm or 0.17inches.
Era : Edo period.
Shape : It is wide and thick strong looking tanto and it is mitsumune style.
There is futasuji hori engraved. There is sori at the tip.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with nashime hada mixed.
There is chikei works seen and there is clear ha.
Hamon : Nioi structure it is almost “smoky” style.
There is sunagashi and kinsuji work.

Special feature : At first glance it seems to be old style Soshuden piece.
In NBTHK museum, it is attributed as Shitahara. There is full of activities in the ha.
